Giving donors a say in how your funds are spent

A family day out in London Zoo brought me to a vending/vote machine giving donors the opportunity to vote on how they think ZSL should spend donations (they never suggested that funds would be restricted in any way).

Not many charities have access to a 6ft tall donation collector, but this could easily translate to websites & social media.  At the very least it will get donors engaged in thinking about some of the challenges and difficult decisions that non-profit organisations have to make.

One of the best examples I’ve seen of this is My Action for Children, which has a great search function that enables you to chose which project you want to raise funds for.
